SUNDAY WORSHIP
Sunday worship is held at 10 am. The Order of Service can be viewed in advance on the website on the Thursday prior to the service, on the home page www.christchurch.bm. You can also find a recording of the service on the home page of the website under “Sunday Archives”.
If you know of someone that may have difficulty getting to church, please reach out to them and offer a ride.
CONGREGATIONAL LUNCHEON
A congregational lunch will be held after the service on Pentecost Sunday, June 8. Please note this in your diaries and make every effort to join us in the worship service and then the lunch in the Thorburn Hall.
NEW CHURCH SECRETARY
Lisa started as the church secretary in 2025. She previously held an administrative position at an exempt company in Hamilton. Lisa’s connections with Christ Church Warwick go back many years; her parents’ marriage and, later, her baptism were held here (several decades ago!), and Lisa was confirmed as a member of the church as a teenager.
Lisa is glad to be able to contribute to the life of the church through the role of secretary, and she recognises the importance of this role in helping the church carry out its work in the community. Lisa admires the generosity of the congregation and the wider family of volunteers, who give of their time to serve Bermuda’s community, and she is grateful to be part of the Christ Church Warwick family!

OFFICE HOURS IN JUNE
Please note that the office will be open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 12 pm for the month of June. Regular office hours will return in July.
FAREWELL FROM SANDRA
As I hand over the reins to Lisa, I am filled with bittersweet emotions. I am very excited to take on my new role as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity and work towards making a difference for people living in derelict conditions, but I have a heavy heart saying goodbye to the people who I have come to adore during my almost four years in my role.
I want to thank everyone who I got to know during my time here for your kindness and thoughtfulness. I thoroughly enjoyed my role here and couldn’t have asked for a better boss than Alistair.
It is a time of change at Christ Church with a new Minister and a new secretary, but as we go out with the old, I know that this congregation will be just as warm and welcoming to the new.
With kind regards
Sandra
INVITATION TO COMMEMORATION OF DR. EVA HODGSON
You Are Invited to a Commemoration of Dr. Eva Naomi Hodgson OBE.
With the blessing and endorsement of Dr. Eva Naomi Hodgson’s family, Citizens Uprooting Racism Bermuda (CURB)warmly invites you to join us as we celebrate and reflect on the life and legacy of a true Bermudian icon — Dr. Eva Naomi Hodgson OBE — five years after her passing.
Thursday,May 29th, 2025
The Anglican Cathedral, Hamilton
12:30 PM
Dr. Eva Naomi Hodgson was a towering figure in Bermuda’s ongoing journey toward social justice, racial equity, and community upliftment. As an educator, historian, author, and fearless activist, she dedicated her life to speaking truth to power, advocating for systemic change, and encouraging generations of Bermudians to know their worth and their history.
Born in 1924, Dr. Hodgson was one of the first Black Bermudians to earn a doctorate, and she remained a life long advocate for civil rights. Her writings, including Second Class Citizens, First Class Men and The Experience of Racism in Bermuda and Its Wider Context, offered bold and insightful critique of racial inequality in Bermuda and beyond. She worked for social progress all her life, was a founding member of the National Association for Reconciliation and an honorary Councilmember of CURB.
Though she passed away in 2020, her vision, courage, and relentless pursuit of justice continue to inspire. This gathering will be an opportunity to share memories, readings, music, and reflections from those who knew her or were moved by her work.
Let us come together to honor her legacy, reaffirm our collective commitment to justice, and ensure that her voice continues to resonate.
All are welcome.
