Fabric
The fabric committee plans for and implements maintenance and improvements to our physical facilities and grounds. Under the direction of our dedicated and talented convener, this committee ensures that the church buildings are ready to support all the activities of the church.
More than on any other committee, the concept of ‘many hands make light work’ is critical for the Fabric Committee. Together, we can make sure our facilities are fit not only to hold our worship services but to support both our fellowship programmes and community outreach programmes. This committee can always use skilled craftsmen to help direct less skilled volunteers and to help plan maintenance or improvement activities.
The Fabric committee is responsible for the following for the maintenance and upkeep of the Church:
- Oversee all church buildings including the office, kitchen, west hall and Thorburn Hall
- Maintenance of the church graveyard and gravestones, including bleaching of headstones
- Organize all painting, varnishing, maintenance, plumbing and electrical for all the churches buildings
- Manage security of the buildings and premises
- Oversee landscaping with contracted landscapers
