Ceremonies
Marriages
Christ Church performs marriage ceremonies for both locals and visitors. You will be required to fill out a form with details regarding the wedding and wedding party. In advance of the ceremony approval from the Government of Bermuda’s Registry General is required.
The Church does not regard marriage as a sacrament and Ministers are free to marry people who are not members of the Church of Scotland.
We hope that your wedding day will be a pleasurable occasion and one which holds many cherished memories, and we are here to help you prepare for your special day.

Baptisms
At Christ Church we perform a baptism ceremony for any child or adult who is committing to the Christian faith.
Baptism is one of the two sacraments recognized by the Church of Scotland, the other being the Sacrament of Holy Communion. In the case of infant baptism, the Church expects at least one parent or other close family member either to be a member of the Church or willing to become a member. In the baptismal service those appropriate adults profess their own faith and promise to give the child a Christian upbringing. In the case of adult baptism, the person themselves makes the appropriate promises.
Baptism is normally administered at Sunday worship in front of the congregation. The parents will be provided with a baptismal certificate signed by the Minister.
To arrange a baptism, please contact the church to set up an appointment with the Minister and fill out the form with relevant information for the person being baptized.

Funerals
A bereavement is always a difficult and confusing time – even when the loss was expected. We at Christ Church are here to help families and friends pay their respects to their loved ones who have passed with dignity and grace.
We work with all of the local Funeral Undertakers who will help you deal with the arrangements and take care of many of the practical things. You will need to decide if you want a church service or a graveside service, and whether or not it is a cremation or a burial. The internment may take place at Christ Church, or if you prefer, you may have the service at Christ Church followed by a burial elsewhere. If you want a burial service in the church graveyard, you must already have a leased gravesite. If not, church graves are available for a one-time cost of $1,000.
