SUNDAY WORSHIP

Sunday worship will continue to be held at 10 am but returning to the pre-Covid order of service.  The Order of Service can be viewed in advance on the website on the home page www.christchurch.bm

If you know of someone that may have difficulty getting to church, please reach out to them and offer a ride.  This past year of isolation has been very difficult and we can all make a difference by assisting those who need help to get to church.

COMMUNION SERVICE ON SUNDAY

This is a reminder that the Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated this Sunday at the 10 am service.

COFFEE MORNINGS ARE BACK

Coffee and cake returns! We will be continuing this every Tuesday morning from 9:30am until 11:30am. Coffee service will be held under the awnings outside of the kitchen or in the West Hall if the weather is bad. Everyone is welcome for food and fellowship!

BIBLE STUDY/DISCUSSION

Following the theme of Social Justice that we are following this month, we will be studying the concept of belonging utilizing the Mission project of the International Presbytery: Tent of Nations

We will use the ongoing Israeli/Palestinian challenges to discuss and examine our Christian response to issues of Social Justice.  We will meet in Thorburn Hall at 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 22 and those who wish to join by zoom can follow the invitation below.

FABULOUS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 25

Please join us on Friday, November 25 for our next Fabulous Friday event. Question – What brought you to Christ Church? There will be a presentation by Dr. Angela Barry on her experience being a part of the congregation since the 1950’s.  This presentation was already given to the Kirk Session who found it very helpful as they looked at the past, present and future of Christ Church. The event will take place in Thorburn Hall at 6:30. Dinner and water will be served and you are free to bring wine or drink of your choice. FABRIC COMMITTEE IN SEARCH OF VOLUNTEERS

John Ferris will be starting work on the maintenance of the graveyard and headstones and will require some help. If you are willing and able to assist, please contact John at                 or 704-9382.

GIFT SUNDAY

A representative from the Salvation Army will be in attendance at the service on December 4th to receive the gifts.  Reminder that there is no need to wrap the gifts but some wrapping paper and tape would be appreciated by the Salvation Army.  Please make a note of whether the gift is for a boy or girl, and the age for whom it is appropriate. 

 

CHRISTMAS TREE TRIMMING

In preparation for the Salvation Army Gift Service on December 4th, we need some volunteers to help trim the tree on Friday, December 2 at 9:00 am. We once again want to thank Seth and Tiffani Stutzman for generously donating the Christmas tree to Christ Church. If you can help with decorating, or with setting up the tree (hopefully a couple of strong men) please contact Liz Parker at  or 705-2526.

We also need someone to collect the tree from the pick-up area in Warwick, across from Heron Bay, as soon as it is available at the end of November. If you have a car, van or truck that can accommodate an 8’ tree and are willing to help, please contact Sandra at the office   or 236-1882.

CHRISTMAS FAIR

Please save Saturday, December 3 from 10 am to 2 pm for the CHRISTMAS FAIR. We will go back to the full fair this year after having to scale back the past couple of years due to Covid.

Help needed for the Christmas Fair:

Ross Anderson needs assistance with marshalling for the parking. He is looking for someone over the age of 16 to work the 9:15 am to 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm to 2 pm shifts. If you are able to help please contact him at   or 735-6670.

 Please note that drop-off of donations will not take place until the Sunday November 27. We are not accepting books (except children’s books) or furniture of any kind.

CALLING ALL COOKS

Thanks to our many donors, the Baked Goods and Preserves Stall last year was a great success and we hope it will be even better this year. If you would like to donate any baked goods or preserves a few suggestions that always sell well:

Yeast breads and rolls

Tea Breads and muffins (banana, orange, lemon etc.) Gingerbread Cookies and squares Marmalade, jams, jellies, chutney Gluten free items sell well.

SILENT AUCTION

We will be holding a silent auction as part of the Church Fair fundraising initiative. If you have something that you would like to donate such as boat trips, vacation homes, unique experiences, valuable items etc. please contact Sandra at the office

We are placing the order for Life and Work magazine for the 2023 subscription. If you are already on the list, you will automatically get your labelled copies of the magazine. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR UPCOMING EVENTS

The Care Ministry is looking for volunteers to help set up and break down of the hall for our upcoming events, including Fabulous Friday on November 25th and the Volunteer thank you finger food buffet on December 11th following the Sunday service.
