Friday Bulletin – September 9, 2022

Sep 9, 2022

SUNDAY WORSHIP
Sunday worship will continue to be held at 10 am but returning to the pre-Covid order of service.

Effective April 1, the mask mandates have been lifted by the Department of Health which applies to churches and church services. You are no longer required to wear a mask, however, if you feel more comfortable wearing one, please do so at your own discretion.

If you know of someone that may have difficulty getting to church, please reach out to them and offer a ride. This past year of isolation has been very difficult and we can all make a difference by assisting those who need help to get to church.

DEATH OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II
It was with sadness and a great sense of loss that we learned yesterday of the death of the Queen after a period of illness. Given her failing health it was remarkable that she was able to fulfil her duties earlier this week but symbolic of her desire to do so until the very end.
With her death at Balmoral, a place she loved deeply, the appropriate arrangements are progressing in Scotland and the UK. There can be no local or regional church services of thanksgiving until after the State Funeral in Westminster Abbey but special prayers will be offered at Sunday’s service shared with the Very Rev. Dr. John Chalmers, who is also a Queen’s Chaplain, and who will be arriving this evening to provide cover during my absence.

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY
The Kirk Session has elected to return to normal and we will be holding our first “Back to Church Sunday” on September 11th. There will be brunch following the service offering pancakes, bacon and fruit. If you haven’t already emailed to sign up for the brunch, we are accepting responses until end of day today, Friday September 9. Please email David Thompson at if you plan to attend.

CCY IS BACK!
This is to announce that CCY will be resuming on Back to Church Sunday on September 11th. So, get your kiddos ready to return to CCY on the 11th with fun activities to follow. We will be hosting Slip’n Slide immediately. To join in the fun, please bring a bathing suit or water friendly clothing.

ALISTAIR VACATION DATES
