Outreach
The Outreach Ministry is concerned with the public community islanders live and work in. The Ministry looks for ways in which the Church and its members can assist the community and spread the word of Christ. Current projects include:
- Raising funds and awareness for local and overseas relief work
- Supporting the Lorraine Rest Home
- Providing laundry facilities for the homeless
- Providing hot meals for the homeless and people on financial assistance who are dealing with food insecurity
Current projects include:
- Loads of Love laundry service – The Loads of Love building is open on Saturday mornings from 8 am to 11:30 am providing the homeless or those who find themselves in distressed circumstances, with shower and laundry facilities along with breakfast. This program has been in service since March, 2011.
- Feeding Programme – This program was created at the onset of Covid when a need arose to feed those who were financially impacted by the pandemic. Hot meals are served Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and Saturdays from 11 am to 12 pm. This programme is available only to homeless and those on financial assistance.
- Bermuda Overseas Mission. This charity was formed to help countries overseas struggling with survival while providing the people of Bermuda, particularly youth, an opportunity to make a positive impact both locally and globally, through implementing sustainable solutions to global needs such as housing, clean water and access to education.
- School uniforms – In 2024 we donated $7,200 was split between The Family Centre and Gina Spence Program to assist families with school uniforms and shoes.
